tejek:

"AMD seems to be much more appreciated over in England/Europe than here. I can't figure that one out."

Perhaps INTC has "bought" the US channels of distribution in effort to get P4 off the ground? After all, what is good for INTC is good for the US, no???

Tejek Re..Did you see D. Niles Intel EPS upgrade? Indirectly, it signals good news for AMD....there's that spillover effect because of Intel production problems.<<<<<<

When Niles says stupid thing like this, I think he is dead wrong.

Niles, who has recently been skeptical about a chips recovery, raised his fourth-quarter earnings per share estimate to 10 cents from 8 cents and his sales estimate to $6.8 billion from $6.6 billion. <<<<<<<<<

I am not sure if Niles has heard, but we are in a war against terrorism. This war will involve outfitting every airport in the Us and probably half of the world putting in advanced detection machines, sniffers etc.: high tech military equipment, night vision googles etc. and a lot of biotech to search for biochemicals. What does he think these products will be made of, dirt? In addition to our regular usage of silicon, there will be a whole new line of high tech products. Within a yr. high tech will be as strong as ever.

In addition, there are alot of reports out that for xmas, instead of flying, many people are spending the money on home entertainment, such as stereos, computers, etc. When you get such a massive shift of money from the travel business, into home entertainment, high tech is bound to revive.
