Folks... let's get something straight here.. I'm not talking about genetics or some racial reason the Afghanis would not be able to live under a democratic system.

I'm merely stating that with such SOCIAL, ECONOMIC, AND CULTURAL DESTRUCTION that has occurred over the past 30 years, it would be fool-hardly to "turn them loose" politically until the political infrastructure is rebuilt and the people taught (not retaught) basic economic and working skills.

If you give them democracy now, it will turn into the Wiemar Republic all over again, with the people giving their political loyalty to anyone who will guarantee their livelihood.

But it's certainly not genetic, or even cultural... since under the prior King, they seemed to have a measure of parliamentary democracy:
