Americans work very long hours, jtmab, and many people must spend hours in a car commuting to and from work. Under these conditions, I think it would be difficult to remain in a good mood for a very long period of time. The word commuter was an American creation. Too much talk radio. The religious right preaches as much hate in the name of religion as right wing extremists do; they just intersperse it with religious songs. Have you been to Turkey? I'm suppose to go next year. I was a gnat's hair from that opportunity. I was relieved. Though a friend of mine spent a couple of months their and enjoyed it. Some of the higher level people go to work daily in armored cars with armed escorts. Not my cup of tea. jttmab
