I know that it isn't simple. And no doubt, the US may get pissed if Israel does something that doesn't fit with the overall strategy. Maybe the US will cut aid, who knows. But I doubt it. But it has to be getting clear to those in power that either the leaders of the Palestinians don't have any influence or control over the terrorist in such a way that they can make them stop, or they do have control and influence and are causing it. Either way, the current Palestinian powerbase is clearly the wrong group with whom to negotiate a peaceful solution.
