You can do it in English because it is a translation and not the original text. However, I'm sure there would be many objections to making any changes whatsoever to the Arabic text, even if it was to add phrases in parentheses. Someone who truly understood the Arabic language wouldn't need any clarification. It is for those who don't understand the Arabic language that proper clarification is very necessary. An English translation which neglects to clarify points such as these can be damaging and dangerous, IMO.
