Interfax. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, 3:01 PM Moscow Time

MOSCOW. Dec 2 (Interfax) - News about the terrorist act carried out by Palestinian extremists in Jerusalem on December 1 has caused "pain and indignation" in Moscow, a Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman stated on Sunday.
"We would like to convey our deepest condolences to the victims of this barbaric act and angrily condemn the organizers of this cruel provocation aimed at foiling attempts to find a way out of the long dragged-out confrontation between Palestine and Israel," says his statement circulated on Sunday.
"We are resolutely urging the Palestinian leaders to take effective measures to curb the extremists: to arrest and bring to justice all those involved in the organization of the terrorist act and to curb the terrorist groups and those who are instigating violence," the statement reads
