Thanks, Mark, for the cautionary warning. Sounds like one of those stupid self-defeating economy moves by the new owner's bean counters. Rats. If that turns out to be the case I'll have to go to a private microwave link which is a whole 'nother kettle of fish, but necessary to my peace of mind. The other alternative is MPLS w. two or three phone lines at once mux'd together, so I'll fall back to that before the mwave link. Yes, I do have latency-sensitive issues - both software and "wetware" ...!
