CJ, the comment about "classroom work" had more to do with context as opposed to semantics. The author seemed to be implying that the lawsuit against Yale would about breach of contract. While such a case might still be made, last I heard, other grounds were being pursued. In other words, the main focus of the lawsuit is different than one might file if terminated from a business (i.e. where security escorts you out of the building with your belongings in a bag and you are barred from even visiting former colleagues); the real damage was the innuendo implied by Yale's actions in the context of everything that was being written and spoken about at the time.
