Snowshoe, when the moon has left earth, the tides will stop [other than the sun's component] so we'll get respite from the alleged [but I don't believe it] greenhouse effect because maximum sea levels will be dramatically reduced [to mean sea level at any particular point].

Tying boats to wharves will be less problematic. No more getting stranded at low tide. Bangladesh won't suffer appalling floods when high tides and storms combine. Captain Hook won't be able to threaten Tiger Lily with drowning as the tide rises. fantasiescometrue.com

Also, the earth will stop slowing down so the day will remain at 24 hours rather than getting down to 23, which, while a nice prime number, will mean all the clocks will need replacing. Unless we go to cyberspace time, which would be independent of temporal effects.

There won't need to be hugely expensive races to the moon funded by the ever-suffering taxpayer. The man in the moon will get some peace. Wolves will cease their infernal baying. Osama wouldn't be able to see SAS troops sneaking up on him.

Tides have been quite a problem on this planet and to be rid of them would be great. Putting photovoltaic wings on the moon could speed the process and the electricity could be beamed to earth to obviate the California power crisis caused by their fascist state government. It could also be used to supply powerful moon-based CO2 lasers which could sort out the Taleban.
