The public has the attention span of a gnat. They'll buy what they're told to buy.

softechie, it's not the public that moves markets. at this point they are paralyzed with fear and indecision. it's the institutions and hedgefunds that will be opportunistic here. they have an opportunity to make their entire year this month as a result of the rally of oct/nov. they're gonna take this one into the winner's circle and many will actually have a positive year.

i came to this conclusion a few weeks ago. there are too many people out there with major ammo and they are desperate to have the good old days back.
the funny thing is that many people say we can't rally because we have gone too far. interestingly, that is precisely the reason why this will continue through the end of the year as single digit % losses, and in some instances positive years, for institutions are now attainable.
