in manhattan, u can pay the filing fee with a credit card- and you file electronically. all cases and all documents in cases (unless u say u ain't got a modem) are filed electronically. all bankruptcy courts in the u.s. are supposed to be open 24/7. u r supposed to have a drop box. in megacases, judges are alerted a big case will be filed and u can see the judge at his home, weekend home or wherever to get an emergency order signed. it has been common practice to file megacases on weekends or at least at night. the filing fee is the same in an 11 no matter the size of the case. but, there is a separate fee for each affiliate. the u.s. trustee's fee is based on the receipts and disbursements each quarter.
