Last year, when Arafat turned down Israel's generous offer of a Palestinian State, hundreds of millions of dollars in aid and peace, I wondered how he could be so stupid. The Palestinians would win a huge victory, solely for a pledge to stop killing Jews, which they would certainly break shortly after getting what they wanted. So, either H2SteveO is correct about Saudi Arabia calling the shots, or Arafat knew about the impending attack against America, and wanted to wait for a weaker America and bigger gains for his side. Hmmmm!? Perhaps both?
