Just look at your own dollar/gold chart links from Jan '85 through Sept '87. When you have decided on a conclusion before looking at the facts it's easy to pick a squiggle off multi year charts to support that conclusion. The big move is very obviously the dollar dropping in the 85-87 period where the market went through the roof, as any objective view immediately sees. Gold bugs have spent the last two decades looking back to try and pick things out that point to a sure rise, and they're still waiting!
