Ad: This appears to be a nervous week. The short term trend is downwards. This week statements from intc, sunw and one more co ( i don't remember the name) may move the semi's and sce's lower. We may see 37 or lower this week. I am waiting for my next trades. good luck.

Mideast news is what is doing it today. Surprising that nasdaq is holding up so well. As bad as mideast now sounds, there could be major progress over the next several weeks in controlling terrorists if arafat indeed wants to survive. The shot in gaza was a shot across the bow and is a warning. If arafat acts responsibly, there could be peace talks. If you read both Palestinian and Israeli polls there is almost as much support for rapid peace/separation as there is for war and terror. US cash will bankroll peace. If no peace, palestinians will crushed as a prereq for a secure israel. Anyway that is why the market is down and why my spirits are down. The odds for a good outcome are long indeed. mike
