I just seem to keep coming up with questions on this one!
Why? When? Where? What? How?

Why was in there? His mother says he went to Pakistan with an Islamic humanitarian group but hasn't heard from him in seven months.

When did he go to Pakistan? Afghanistan? He's only 20 years old now.

Where has he been since 9/11? Hiding out in caves? Feeding the poor and tending to the injured in villages?

What has he been doing when the Taliban were fighting the NA, and the coalition forces?

How can he be treated any differently than the rest of the prisoners?

It would make sense to me that whatever happens to the Taliban prisoners when the fighting is over, should also happen to him. If the Afghanistan government decides to incarcerate or set them free, he goes with them.

It seems that he chose to give up his rights as an American citizen as soon as he joined their forces. If he wants to come back to the States, he should go on trial for treason.
