It is an objective standard in this sense: Christians have a clear idea of what
they are expected to believe, as presented in the Gospels, Epistles, and
creeds.


Before I can respond to that, I need to know what you believe are the creeds Christians are supposed to believe and which objective standards they are supposed to agree on: protestant, Catholic (and Eastern or Roman), Calvinist, Lutheran, Baptist, Southern Baptist, Episcopalian, . . .

And while you're at it, what is the clear idea all Christians have of the virgin birth, the immaculate conception, and papal infallability?? Not to mention the predictions of Revelations?
