Stephen, The Enron collapse on top of the Opec/Russia spat could whack Houston real estate. We seem to have a head of steam going in commercial real estate and it even looks a bit like a bubble. Residential could hit the wall, especially at the moderately high priced end. Enron paid well and many folks, if not unemployed, could become underemployed. Many of the folks I know were not profligate, but they did put their savings in their company stock. It could be tough love for them. I hope it isn't too bad and that everyone gets a job, but it doesn't look good. My guess is that the unregulated energy jamming game is winding down to a non-event, which means so will many careers.
