That's one passage. As to biblical study, hard to say it has been engaged in "since the very beginning" since there wasn't any Bible initially. But this isn't the place for this discussion, since it's unlikely we will either agree or persuade each other. Moving on.

Which part of these translations are you having trouble with? "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." I have no problem with this passage, even though it is not in its original form and cannot be absolutely authenticated. I follow this advise, as I believe it is meant to be followed....and yet I am considered very far from a Christian by mainstream Christians. I suspect there are more problems with this than you think.
