Paul, this is the first good news I've ever seen about the Itanic. Do you know if there are any comparative benchmarks of 9i on Solaris on Sun boxes vs 9i on Windows on the Itanic?

Thanks

C

Paul, Re: "This is a major milestone for the ITanium - in view of the widespread use of Oracle databases in the enterprise sections of major corporations."

This is a very big announcement - I agree. Now, all I'd like to see is a full and complete version of a Microsoft operating system - not the so-called "Limited Edition". I think that, and the Oracle announcement, will generate a lot more demand for IA-64.

Paul,

Major Software Design win for ITanium - Oracle 9i is now shipping !!!

That is a big deal. Oracle doesn't come out with a new release of their flagship database software that often. You have to be up on it to be anybody in servers.
