JLA, here’s a lawyerly colleague of yours who done your fraternity proud:

Olson's high-profile, pro bono attorney, Tony Serra, never showed up. He was scheduled to testify that he had coerced his client into accepting a guilty plea.
.
.
.
Serra later faxed a letter to Fidler apologizing for his absence. He said he missed his flight.
.
.
.
He [The Judge] read a faxed letter that arrived midafternoon from Serra, who blamed "karma" for missing his plane from Oakland and that he thought there wouldn't be a seat on the next one.

"Therefore, in a state of mind of dank frustration, I went home and went back to bed," Serra wrote.

Protocol for attorneys in such situations is to immediately contact the court and any co-counsel to notify them of the delay.

Fidler turned to Chapman and said: "Do you two think I drive a car to work, or a turnip truck?"
