People are fearful? The AAII bullish reading is at 70% right now. Wouldn't you say people are just being careful.

If the expanding QQQ short interest is a hedge, then isn't less likely to fuel a short covering rally.

A hedge would be a sign that people are still fearfull of a decline. That is a good contarian indicator.
