A great deal of the Quran is devoted to reverence to Jesus. We believe the immaculate conception, second coming, sinless, miracles etc. We believe the message of Jesus. We believe Jesus is Jesus sent with his message and that God is God. God is All Powerful, All knowing etc. Human beings have limitations. Jesus demonstrated that he was a limited human being. He ate, he slept, he prayed, etc. God has no limitations even in his descriptors. In the Bible when Satan told Jesus to call on divine intervention and throw himself from the high place he responded that it is a sin to tempt God. This did not demonstrate his lack of faith that God is on his side but that he nor we should not tempt God by deliberately testing God. We don't test God to prove himself, God tests us. Though many would dare us to do that.

In the passage you quoted. I read it as this. "I am the way" Jesus was a living example of the way to live to save your soul. In that sense he is a savior. “The Truth” The message of Jesus is the truth of our human condition. You must worship none other before God. Many things said by Jesus gave glory and worship to God and to God alone. He made it clear that he is the only way to this truth. You can’t have “The Life” Eternal life is a reward of the righteous believers. Jesus came to point the way to eternal life. His message was no different than the messengers of God to other peoples…why should it be? There are writings of the period in which it is noted that people call each other the children of Satan (when they are being hypocrites or oppressors). Jesus himself can be seen doing this in the language of the new testament. It was also normal to call some one the son of God when they behaved righteously. Jesus also can be seen saying to the multitudes that they are the children of God. Since child of God was the term used to label a righteous person it would also make sense that the followers would make the determination that none are so deserving as the sinless Jesus. It would be wrong for me to ever diminish the role of Jesus in the history of creation. It would be equally wrong for me to exaggerate it if that means giving a partner to God. It is the term “begotten” and the designation as God or partner to God, instead of God’s messenger that separates me from Christianity. I am a Muslim. There is much more to our belief in the reverence of Jesus but I hope this gets the point across. Any Muslim who would not profess a love and reverence for Jesus does not know his own religion.
