Iceland fishing industry

Has recovered amazingly well. Here is a link.
icenews.is
From what I have seen of it, big changes of how an area is fished.

-Each area is heavily monitored to ensure legal activity.
-Boats are frequently boarded and the catch checked.
-If the fish are small, they have to be kept as part of catch, but that sea area is closed down for the population to recover.

From what I have seen, Iceland fishing trawlers are landing very big fish.

Britains nuclear reprocessing? Cost a lot of money, questionable return for further big investments. There are safety issues, and the public view of the safety record is poor. BNFL management are as brain dead and incompetent as the managers of the EEC common fishing policies imho
For example, you would think safety perception by the public would have been high on their list of priorities? Well, just like they did in the 50's and 60's they knew better then everyone and just had to tell the dumb public how smart they all were. Tell on "need to know" basis, act clever. Saving a few dollars by dumping low level waste into landfill is real stupid imho. Same with sea discharges. Much better to invest in mechanisms where there is no controversy and an approving public. So..."room for improvement" is the best mark I can give.
