Amein,

Thank you for you clarification, and I apologize again for any offense you perceive I have committed against you!

But how about the contradiction, to those preventing them from making the pilgrammage, slaying them in 2:191 and giving gifts in 2:196? And 2:196 is saying to give gifts, while specifically talking about the pilgrammage, and 2:191 and it surround verses have no mention of the pilgrammage? Yet your writer uses 2:191 with the pilgrammage and makes no mention of the gift giving. Doesn't that seem strange to you?

If it is as your writer supposes, he should have said originally it was revealed to give gifts to those preventing you from your journey, but then Allah said, it would be better if you slay them instead. They are not worthy of gifts.

And one more thing, if people want people to believe Islam is a peaceful and loving religion, wouldn't they rather it say lets solve it with gift giving verses slaying? That logic would definitely be more in line with a non-aggressive religion, and a defensive minded religion, verses offensive minded.... And I think the writer does it injustice by saying the solution to the journey prevention is slaying, when it clearly states that the solution is gift giving.

God Bless,
IGIT
