Do you have statistics for robbery in Kabul before Taleban rule and after Taleban rule?

i have no idea what the robbery statistics were or are.

i did not know that was the issue...your comment was the crime rate is heading to zero under the taliban...

Of course, in my opinion, the Taleban themselves committed crimes by attacking people who didn't comply with fashions demanded by the Taleban, such as beard length, clothing etc.

thank you...that was my point.

don't forget to add the regular public assaults and battery on women, the habitual sexual abuse of young children and mob lynchings.

crime free under the taliban! my you know what.
:o)
i am glad we agree.

<< The USA is free only in cliche and slogan. Not reality. >>

- I can safely travel thoughout the US.
- I can eat where I want,
- work where I want,
- vote when I want,
- get free education thru grade 12,
- get free health care if I can't afford it,
- travel freely thoughout most of the world,
- date who I can,
- marry who I can,
- get free legal help if I can't afford it,
- demonstrate against my government without fear,
- I have freedom of speech,
- I can directly address my government and criticize them without fear.
- I can buy my own home.
- I am guaranteed due process by our courts.
- My country protects my freedoms thru police and military, and thru the court system.
- I can run for political office.
- I enjoy a free press, not controlled by government.

These are just some of the many freedoms Americans enjoy, while living in the nation which symbolizes and has protected freedom throughout the world.

What part of the word "freedom" do you not understand? <g>

You mean like these scenes?

rawa.fancymarketing.net

Before the Soviets really stuck their noses in Afghanistan (prior to the coups d'etat staged in 1973 and 1978) the country really was relatively free of crime and was undergoing modernization.

I believe there's enough international focus on Afghanistan this time that the chaos that reigned after the USSR pulled out will not repeat itself. Who really knew anything about Afghanistan at the time of the Russian retreat? It was a forgotten war. Yet some 1.5 millions were left dead in the wake of the conflict the USSR.

Dostum is a Russian creation, and due to his ethnic origins probably doesn't have any real chance for an important place in the government when the dust settles. Why should he worry anyhow, he has amassed a fortune in criminal dealings of all sorts.

Of course crime decreased in Afghanistan under the Taliban.

It's called eliminating the competition.
