Israel "does not target civilians"

Two killed as Israel fires rockets at compound
An Israeli F-16 fighter plane has fired rockets at a Palestinian security compound in a residential neighbourhood of Gaza City, killing two people.
More than 100 people have sustained injuries in the attack.
Dozens of children, many of them shaking and crying, are among those being treated for injuries caused by shrapnel and debris.
"I was running outside my school when I felt that something had hit my head," said Suleiman al-Houli, 12, who was bleeding from his head.
"I fell on the ground and found myself inside the ambulance. I don't know who carried me but I remember smelling smoke and I'm here."
The terrified boy's blue shirt was covered in blood. Doctors at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City said stones had hit his head and a small piece of shrapnel injured his left shoulder.
"I want to go back home," Suleiman said. "This is a real war, Sharon is trying to kill us."
Israeli Apache helicopters also hit an operations building belonging to Force 17 - a branch of the Palestinian security forces - and a Preventive Security building in Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza. Sonic booms set off by the F-16 fighters sounded over Gaza.
Doctors and nurses at Shifa Hospital rushed to examine and treat patients lying on beds or on the ground. Dr Moawiya Hassanayn says there are more than 100 wounded. Ambulances and private cars brought more.
Hassanayn says the dead are a 17-year-old male student and a 23-year-old member of the Preventive Security Service.
