And why should AMD slug it out in the US, where Intel has a stranglehold?
The US consumer is more brand loyal (and generally less bargain conscious?), so AMD has an easier sell in Europe.
The combined European market is projected to surpass the US market in the next couple of years.
The Western European market already comprises more that 25% of world PC units.
