Genesis Microchip Increases Its Third-Quarter Revenue Target
Company Expects To Exceed Previous Revenue Target
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 2001--Genesis Microchip (Nasdaq: GNSS - news) - a pioneer in the development and marketing of LCD monitor technology - today announced it expects revenues for its third fiscal quarter ending Dec. 31, 2001 to exceed $40 million, a new company record.

In July 2001, the company forecasted third-quarter revenues of $25.0 to $25.5 million. In October 2001, that target was revised upwards to ``at least'' $36 million, after the company reported record revenues of $36.1 million for its second quarter ended Sept. 30, 2001.

This increased revenue target is based on continued strong product shipments. Genesis attributes this to the market growth for LCD monitor sales continuing to exceed industry forecasts coupled with the company's significant design wins in previous quarters.

``We're obviously delighted to announce the continued solid demand for our products,'' said Genesis President and CEO Amnon Fisher. ``The substantial growth of the LCD monitor market is driving our revenues and we've once again proven that we serve all segments of this growing market.''

The company expects to announce full financial results for its third quarter in the second half of January 2002, at which time it expects to provide a more detailed update for future revenue targets.
