Yup! I do believe that chart says it all. The upturn is coming. My belief's aside hard data will eventually support a recovery for AMAT. Like the chart though!

More from Breifing.com:

8:01AM Genesis Microchip (GNSS) 58.60: Co expects revenues for Q3 (DecQ) to exceed $40 million, a new company record and above current consensus $37 mln; attributes strength to the market growth for LCD monitor sales continuing to exceed industry forecasts coupled with the company's significant design wins in previous qtrs.

8:21AM CSFB on Taiwan Foundries : CSFB positive on two Taiwanese foundries: upgrades TSM to STRONG BUY from Buy, as orders have improved in all segments (except perhaps wireline networking), gaining share at leading-edge process technology; firm would buy UMC now due to improved industry outlook for production rates in 2002.

8:34AM RF Micro Device (RFMD) 23.47: Agrees to purchase IBM's (IBM) GPS development operation. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

8:38AM Nanometrics (NANO) 21.90: Awarded patent covering an apparatus and method for controlling a polar coordinate stage that moves the image of the object to compensate for the rotation of the stage.

8:41AM SanDisk Corp (SNDK) 13.64: Merrill Lynch cautious on SNDK, as lower digital camera outlook and pricing pressures could have negative impact. Flash cards used in digital cameras make up 50% of co's sales, and checks indicate qtr-to-date sales have been below expectations due to slowdown in sales and pricing pressures in flash. Firm now expects flash pricing to bottom in Q2, rather than Q1.

8:51AM Agilent Tech (A) 27.51: Sources saying Soundview is positive on A: co won 3 big design wins with Phillips, NEC and Cisco Systems for its 93000 SOC series semiconductor testers; firm is increasingly comfortable with company's wireless strategy, and A continues to show strength across multiple mkts. Recommends buying stock at current level.

9:01AM National Semi (NSM) 29.40: UBS Warburg cautious on NSM; believes that positive news regarding wireless and displays has already been priced into stock, while analog biz may be weak and recovery more gradual than expected. While company should meet ests for Q2 on Dec 6, they may guide Q3 revs lower than current 4.4% est.

9:28AM Intel (INTC) 32.04: Hearing from sources at Salomon Smith Barney that analyst Jon Joseph reduced his 2002 revenue estimate for INTC by $2 bln, but cut expense estimates so that EPS estimate is unchanged.
