Let me see if I can find you a link to what GE has weathered and you can judge for yourself.

Well, it isn't as easy as I thought it might be.

September 11th was Jeffrey Immelt's second day on the job as GE's Chairman. In his speech after the tragedy he pointed out that GE made the engines on the jets, insured the buildings, leased the jets and pointed out several other issues GE had involvement with.

As tragic as the death was, GE has weathered quite a bit more.
