From what you say it sounds like the consumer stuff is moving and the business stuff is still in a slump...business investment should pick up when the economy rebounds. I'd be a little worried that the networking sector might still be suffering from past overinvestment. Is that still the future...or is it now the past?

The Segway scooter is suffering from its promoter's decision to hype it to the moon. Too many people bought the hype and forgot that the inventor, brilliant though he might be, still has to work with the same laws of physics as everyone else. There are good reasons why we don't have personal hovercraft, Stirling engines etc. Having failed to deliver on the hype, there is an inevitable backlash. I didn't figure out the reason for the hype until I learnt that John Doerr and KP are funding it.

Personally, I wouldn't mind one for Christmas, but I would prefer to have whatever the backers are smoking when they say that they think it will "revolutionize personal transportation."
