North Korea doesn't even have 7 million military age men let alone an army of 7 million.

twf,
aw shucks...i posted wrong again. i said 7 million and i meant to say 8 million...thanks for catching that.

the actual total strength of the north korean military is 8,620,000. approx 1.1 million are active duty. approx 7.5 million are trained reservists.

koreascope.org

the US troop strength is approx 1.4 million active and approx 880,000 in the "selected" reserve. (total authorized reserve strength is about 1.3 or 1.4 million).

Also man for man, US, or even South Korean soldiers should be able to outfight the north.

each year for the last few years the north koreans have been adding fighters, tanks, APCs and other heavy equipment...at the same time, the USA has been decreasing fighters, tanks, APCs and other heavy equipment.

twf,
here are the official US state department figures on north korean military strength. they bring us back to my original 7 million.

for more details...open this state dept. link...then open the link it guides you to.

state.gov

clip...The North Korean Armed Forces today are the fifth largest in the world. The ground forces, numbering one million active duty soldiers, provide the bulk of the North's offensive war-fighting capability and are the world's third largest army. They are supported by an air force of over 1,600 aircraft and a navy of more than 800 ships. Over 6 million reserves augment the active duty personnel.

America has about 310 ships left in our navy battle fleets...why does north korea have 800 naval ships? why do they have 1,600 combat aircraft? why have they been building and buying more ships and combat aircraft for the past several years?
where are they planning to go?
