I agree with you.....one can mistake consolidation for distribution...especially given there are a lot of bears that had never seen a bear market before this one..

I've seen the argument (distribution top) put forth on several threads, including this one.

The argument for a "distribution" was an incomplete one, for not all signs bear (g) to it- especially since we never broke most/all channel(s) since Sept. 21 on any close, and depending on how one draws one's lines, hardly intraday..

I think many newby bears saw the breakdowns in individual charts and the sideways action of the past few weeks, and, staring at the big turn dates..they are trying to fit the argument to match
