Oh I see.... The Japanese were supposed to believe us about our terrible new weapon without seeing some proof. Of course they would not normally surrender with that kind of warning. Your argument could have been used against our current president and military, who gave the Taliban precious time to prepare for our attack, yet we gave the evil ones a chance to turn over Bin Laden even though it could have cost us greatly in military casualties. No, I am not saying we should have dropped even more A-bombs on them than we did if the demonstration bombing did not make them surrender.
