<< But compare yourself with what's perfect rather than those in the gutter. >>

Gutter? There are many different shades of freedom around the globe.

What is perfect is being in a Las Vegas house of prostitution for a month, then taking a credit card out of your pocket, paying your bill, and then finding out that it is Pat Robertson's credit card. <g>

<< ... and free "state indoctrination" >>

You mean our education system?! I would say that the "indoctrination" was more societal, rather than "state".

<< ... are actually paid for by those who are forced, against their will, to pay for your benefits. >>

Oh, you must mean taxes. Someone has to pay the bill for America, the country that has kept freedom alive in this world.

<< Are you allowed to grow, buy and sell dope, cocaine and other recreational drugs which compete with tobacco, alcohol, coffee and tea? >>

I am for the legalization of certain drugs. But, I feel blessed being an American, and having the freedoms and benefits that I have. So, I win big ones, and lose the small ones.

<< Are you allowed to clone yourself? >>

Yes I am. But, I need to find a better way to do it. Self gratification doesn't seem too work to well.

<< Are you allowed to decline to pay taxes for an education you disagree with or a war you find abhorrent? >>

What is the alternative? Without an orderly society, with reasonable laws, one has anarchy and lawlessness, and far worse conditions for everyone. No one and no system is ever, ever, ever going to be totally perfect. But, we must continue to strive for that perfection.

<< Freedom is a very dull flower, even in the USA. >>

I LOVE my freedoms, and my country. I complain now, and have complained many, many times about things that my country does, or did, with which I disagree with. But, the bottom line is, this is the greatest country in the world, ever!

<< Incidentally, the courts only protect your freedoms if you can afford it. >>

Somewhat true. If you have money, you have to pay for your own legal defense. If you don't you have an attorney appointed for you. One of my pet peeves is the supplying of free lawyers to felons over and over again. That really pisses me off! Why should we continually finance legal help for many-times convicted felons!?

Your note is wearing me out. I stop here. <g>
