Why are Americans so afraid of the US Constitution? Nothing frightens me more then the thought that my government is using this situation as an opportunity to seize more power over my life. Actually, there is something that frightens me more... It is that if I try to protest that, my fellow citizens will tell me to sit down and shut up!

I don't think very many Americans are "afraid" of the Constitution, I think most Americans are afraid of terrorism. Rational people can clearly understand that to put foreign war criminals on trial in America through the civil courts would be particularly dangerous to our people,(can you imagine how many fanatics would want to get their hands on jurists of an OBL trial? Not to mention the safety and well being of their families) and compromise our ability to apprehend terrorists.

We would be hard pressed to find cooperation from our foreign allies in requests for classified information in order to prosecute a war criminal in a civil trial. If America were to try war criminals in our courtrooms, there would be little if any outside cooperation, the communities in which trials would take place would be subject to terrorist attacks and Americans would be footing the bill trying war criminals bent on killing as many of us a possible.

Military Tribunals have been successfully used at times of war in America many times. Do a google search.

The Constitution has survived to grow stronger after each event that led up to Military Tribunals. Not only that, but our own military personnel are entitled only to Military trials, our enemies deserve nothing more, nothing less.

GW has drawn a very important line in the sand when he says you are either with us or you are with the terrorists. He has put terrorists on notice that the United States of America will not tolerate indiscriminate killing of innocent human beings without a fight any longer.

Crimes of war are different than felonies and piracy. Skinning humans alive, cutting off heads, slashing airline pilots and stewardess throats, blowing ones self and innocent men women and children up in a crowded bus station, bombing buildings with airplanes are crimes of war and so must be treated as such.

Our Government is not "making a grab for power". Declaring the use of Military Tribunals by GW is not "breaking all the laws of the US" as you say. Definitely do a google search.

I'm glad you feel better, but you don't seem to have all of the information you need to make an informed decision regarding Military Tribunals. Please do some reading about Military Tribunals, I think you will feel even better.
