since the concept of value seems to escape you let me explain it it in simpler term and let us talk only about Intel (since it is so dear to your heart) :-))
Let say today Intel's cap is $221B and 6.73B shares outstanding.
Guess by how much the value of the company would go up if intel's earnings would double last quarter - just 0.673B.....

while earnings would be 100% higher

BTW the actual increase in value would be substantially less than that due to a number of factors but I was kind at the moment :-))
