NewVision,

a sector that has behaved "exactly" as expected is the
GaAs and InGaP producers that supply the cellular phone
and fiber optics industry. They fell late and they fell
hard, but in clear cause-and-effect relation with the
slowdown in the above mentioned industries. Two good
examples I have in mind are AXTI and EMKR. If you believe
(as I do) that the upturn in the cellular phone sector
has just begun, then it is a great time to buy AXTI. For
the semi-equips, this last downturn started way early
and has put in a double bottom (dec 2000, Sept 2001)
of sorts. I did add to my AMAT at 28$ in september but
have for the most part been underweight my traditional
position in this sector in favor of the GNSS, ESST, of
this world.

Good points on shorts/margins and good luck,

T--
