But there is nothing that makes me believe that Christian fundamentalists of the fervor of their counterparts in the Taliban and elsewhere are in any way above, beyond, or otherwise incapable or unwilling to undertake the same actions as Islamic fundamentalists do and have. I was not comparing Christian fundamentalists in general to Islamic fundamentalists in general. I do think Islamic fundamentalists have been more violent in recent years but I didn't say Christian fundamentalists, or any one else powerfully motivated by any inflexible idea, religious or otherwise would be incapable of being violent. I compared Falwell specifically to OBL, or more specifically I reacted to a comparison that you made. I broke down fundamentalists in to two categories. Violent fundamentalists, and "non-violent" fundamentalists (I put non-violent in quotes because they may not be completely non-violent but my point is they aren't violent criminals, or terrorists, or fighters in some religious war). I see no evidence that Falwell is in to terrorism, so I place him in the non-violent group. There are plenty of non-violent followers of fundamentalist Islam, its not a Christian/Islamic thing. Amish people would also be in the non-violent fundamentalist group as would certain Jewish groups, and people with other beliefs besides those I've listed. You can argue if you want that Falwell is a jerk, you can hate him if you want, but he isn't a terrorist. Uh-huh. And where does bombing abortion clinics or killing abortion doctors and supporters with sniper rifles fit into your little dissertation? In the violent fundamentalist category. If you can show that Falwell has done these things then I would have to move him in to that category, but it would only be a shift of one person and perhaps some of his followers, it would not break down the categories I laid out in my previous post. I think you mistaken though that when I said "non-violent fundamentalist" I meant Christian fundamentalist, and when I said "violent fundamentalist" I meant Islamic fundamentalist. If that is what you thought then you misunderstood my post. Well, if this is what you're getting at: even though it hasn't happened yet, I don't put it even remotely past a Bible-thumper to take upon him or herself an attack of 9/11's style or magnitude anywhere in the world, including domestically. I think Christians that would possibly make such an attack are few and far between today. Of course this could change as both Christian groups and the rest of the world changed. I don't think that it is even close to impossible for a fundamentalist Christian to make such an attack, but currently there are no Christian groups like Al-Qaida. Nor is there any country likely to shelter such a group should it emerge. Both of these facts are subject to change of course. Most fundamentalists Islamic, Christian or otherwise would not participate in or abet an attack of 9/11 style of magnitude. BTW - Do you honestly think Falwell would plan, support, or participate in an attack like those on 9/11? I don't think he would. Of course I don't know him personally but I haven't even seen a tiny hint that he is even thinking along those lines. That's right. Wake up. Wake up to what? You claimed Falwell was like Bin Laden. Even if he secretly is planning massive terrorist acts there is no sign of it. If you have such evidence why don't you open my eyes by posting it here. No actually I suggest you contact the FBI if you have such evidence. If you do not have any evidence then there is no point or meaning behind you "Wake up." Tim
