Maybe you should read more carefully, I did not say that intel does not have value but rather that earnings when taken out of context of Paul's favorite "potential" do not matter much.

<edited> because near term earnings are at the focus of investors, companies are very forced to optimized for near term earnings at the expense of "economic value". That is done in all large public companies to one degree or another
