Bloomberg planning to visit this weekend
By Melissa Radler

NEW YORK (December 5) - New York City Mayor-elect Michael Bloomberg plans a lightning-quick, one-day visit this weekend on his private jet to show solidarity with the country following the recent suicide bombings.

The billionaire media mogul turned politician said yesterday he plans to bring with him New York Gov. George Pataki, Mortimer Zuckerman, chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, and possibly New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

Bloomberg, who is Jewish, said he wants to show his support for the Israeli and American efforts to combat terrorism.

"We want to show the Israeli people our prayers are with those who died and their families," he said at a press conference. "We stand 100 percent behind President Bush and the Israeli government and their absolute intolerance for terrorism."

Bloomberg, who is planing to leave late Saturday, has plans to meet with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert, and possibly with Foreign Minister Shimon Peres.

The group is scheduled to visit the sites of the suicide bombings in Jerusalem and Haifa.

Pataki said he wants to visit the recently reopened Sbarro's pizzeria in downtown Jerusalem and the nearby stretch of Jaffa Road recently temporarily renamed New York Street.

Bloomberg made his first visit to Israel in January.

"Arafat's helicopters and his airport are out of action and to move anywhere, he must first receive Israeli permission."

And, he'd better say "yes, sir" or "no, sir", or he won't be safe making a trip to the outhouse. <g>

"The frantic efforts of Saeb Erekat and Hanan Ashrawi to resurrect the old myths and excuses of "occupation" and "settlements" to justify terrorism and hatred have lost their audience, even in Europe and Canada."

These incredible liars fail to point out that the Palestinians terrorists had been attacking Jewish civilians long before Israel occupied the West Bank and Gaza in 1967.
