Dude, It's all part of the game. You want to know what stopped me in my tracks the other day? I was watching one of those promotional pieces on the military. The ones that talk about "firepower" and "weapons platforms", how cool F16s are, "delivering ordinance". I don't usually get too disturbed about it. I know it's entertainment for the masses and that it glosses over what it's really like. Incidentally, I know what i'm talking about in this realm. I was all signed up and tested, etc. to become a fighter pilot then I blew out my knee playing baseball in college. Dropped from the program. Now i'm just a regular weenie typing on a message board. Whatever. So they are talking about the fighters and how their best friend is the tanker in the sky. They are showing shots of the tanker during refueling operations. So I look at the pilots and I shit you not........on the ears of their headphones they are sporting Texaco logos. Big red stars with a happy Texaco written on the bottom. To me that's the same as the schools with Taco Bells in the cafeterias because Taco Bell gave them some money. It's not ok. But there it is. We're not so freekin' noble when you look at it but we're still the best thing going.
