Jason, I may be totally off base. Do you want to deal with a Kiosk? This is a failed market attempt... Did not work for Eastman and others... POP can only be defined with balanced marketing. A Kiosk is not a Soda Machine. People do pictures and they like a personal touch, whether it be mail and print or flash and print.

I think most people want the "Home Office Control". Download, File, Save & Print, our choice!

So if you took over the Kiosk Project, would you go forward with it or can It?

Just a view!

Keith

Jason,

I think your observations are correct. I agree with Lemon Head, however, in
that the kiosk project may be on the back burner until the market dynamics come into focus.
(But my understanding was that SanDisk's partner would be responsible for kiosk maintenance.)

Where does that leave us now?

Well, as the soft spots in SanDisk's IP have been exposed and penetrated we are ever more
dependent on factors like supply chain management. In the face of bulging inventories and
substantial write-offs to recalibrate to current market values one would assume that
SanDisk would be instituting a full-court press regarding delivery into retail channels.

It really hurts to see consumers choose a second tier manufacturer like PNY just because
SanDisk can't keep its retail pegs stocked with the hottest card capacities. Given the
relative "stealth" of the marketing effort one has to wonder exactly what branding strategy
they are executing right now. I would hate to read later...

"We successfully completed our Christmas branding effort by leaving retail vendors
short on supply of our cards, thus creating the illusion that demand for SanDisk products
is insatiable. By saving on standard branding techniques we further reduced Q4 operating
expenses. We are planning a similar 'New Year's Aftermarket' campaign which will
continue to leave our best retailers high and dry for Q1 2002."

Any MacIntosh users who know of a good photo viewing...

...and touch-up program that would make a good gift?

My sister has an iMAC and I am not familiar with software geared for Apples.
