You're right about Netanyahu -- and that's just one more factor pushing Sharon to the right. Aside from his own ministers on the Right, he's looking over his shoulder at Bibi breathing down his neck. But imo Labor will really look stupid if they leave the government in what is effectively a war situation. Who is head of their party now? Burg? Peres (the eternal election loser)? they couldn't even hold their party elections successfully! And where is their constituency now? Arafat has killed the Left in Israel, and the Center is voting Likud.
