On the other hand, the 12/26 issue of PC Mag has a 2-page AMD ad and ads for XP 1900+ systems from Micron (no surprise), Systemax, Xi Computer and HP!. HP advertising the 1900+ is a pleasant surprise to me.

The sales guy seemed to like Athlons, but he was telling me this story about Celerons being Piii's that the math coprocessor didn't test out on. Was that 386's or 486's?

It was 486s. The 486SX was the same as the 486DX except it had no functioning math coprocessor and one pin was changed.
