Why don't you bellyache over on the Banny Mani thread about AMD spending $69 Million to buy back their own shares last quarter - bringing AMD's total loss last quarter all the way to $256 Million ?

ADVANCED MICRO DEVICES INC (AMD)

Ali, Re: "How about real earnings? $800 loss. Were $4 Billion Y-Y paid, or not? Paid out of pocket, but not accounted for? That's what the facts are. But you, of course, will deny them, twist them, invent excuses and theories why stock buy-back is good, travel back in time
trying to justify virtual price, etc., etc."

Intel has "Repurchase and retirement of common stock" clearly labeled in their cash flow section, appropriately listed as $3 billion for the 9 months ending September 29, 2001. Intel's "Net increase in cash and cash equivalents" (a.k.a. the Bottom Line) is still positive at $1.888 billion. Maybe you'd like to take that foot out of your mouth and check the link, first?
