Everyone matters, but one is not in a position to affect all situations. We each have our sphere in which we operate, and our special responsibilities, such as our family, our neighborhood, our friends, our countrymen. I do not apologize for thinking that we should concern ourselves with discharging our more immediate responsibilities. As for the Fatherhood of God: I do believe that the traits we associate with masculinity are more appropriate to my conception of God, even though God is beyond human sexuality, and therefore I am happy to employ the traditional Western image of God as Father.
