One anecdotal way of guesstimating the market acceptance of various chips is to look for their use in published research. CIPH's chips (one of their people, at least) are apparently being used in studying the relationship of amyloid precursor protein to master neuron cell death and plaque formation in Alzheimer's patients.

I see work with AFFX's GeneChips all over, for instance. Less involving LMNX, and nada about ACLA and ILMN, since they haven't launched yet. CIPH seems to be getting some traction in the protein chip biz, and first mover advantage seems to be theirs. Other perspectives welcome.

Cheers, Tuck
