From the Yahoo thread (not even sure why I was over there, but this is pretty good) ...

Global Crossing Enters New Long-Term Agreement with Tree Lights, Inc

December 05, 2001 12:00:00 AM ET

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 2001--

Global Crossing Ltd. GX announced today that it will begin pulling all of its fiber out of the ground to be used to make Christmas Trees that have lighted tips, a spokesperson said today.

The trees, which use fiber optics in their branches, save the user from having to add lights. The tips of the branches themselves glow.

Industry analysts are confident that the move will bode well for Global Crossing.

Others, however, aren't so sure. "I still long for the days of a viable company with a stock price somewhere in the $3 range," one investor commented. "I'm Jewish, and we don't have a Christmas tree," said another.

In reaction to criticism from non-Christian investors, Global Crossing is reviewing the marketability for fiber-optic menorah lights, and is frantically trying to figure out what they may provide to a Kwanzaa, or if they even care.

The new trees, expected to appear on the market in February for a test market to last until July, will come in many colors and sizes.

"We're really hoping the Easter Trees take off," one marketing specialist at Global Crossing said.

"Shut Up," investors said, pretty much across the board.
