If the writ of habeus corpus were suspended (an unconstitutional act), and I was asked that question, I also would answer 'Nothin'. So would the great majority of the country. What does that prove? Well, it proves that that is a stupid question, since it proves nothing. Would I be right in protesting that suspension? Yes. Would any of my activities be curtailed (as I am not currently undergoing prosecution for anything)? No.

So, you ignored every point I made and concentrated on an irrelevant answer to a stupid question. So, lets go back to that caller. After looking at the paragraph above, what if we asked him how he would answer that question if given the following two choices:
a) Nothin
b) I'm not sure since I don't know what is illegal anymore. The executive branch of my government has assumed the legislative power that the Constitution granted only to Congress. Also, I'm really afraid that my fellow citizens are going to start calling me names and questioning my patriotism because I'm trying to make sure that my government doesn't suspend any of my or their rights. I wouldn't be surprised if the Executive branch does try to suspend habeus corpus and give the police the right to search any vehicles without probable cause (all in the name of national security, of course). As long as my neighbors don't get searched, they will probably have no problem with that.

Hmmm... You know, I'm not so much angry anymore as I am starting to get a little afraid.
